Deadline for Scope of Practice review extended

The time frame for the review of the Dental Board of Australia’s Scope of Practice Registration Standard has been extended until the end of this year. The announcement of the extension is contained in the communiqué of the Board’s meeting last month.Health Workforce Australia is developing advice on the current scope of practice for dental hygienists, dental therapists and oral health therapists. Until the outcome of the review, dental practitioners are reminded of that the Board’s Scope of Practice standard was developed to encompass the variation of how scope of practice was regulated in jurisdictions before the commencement of the national scheme.
