New way to tackle Aboriginal tooth decay

About 300,000 Aboriginals have untreated tooth decay, according to an NITV report. Authorities at Wilcannia, NSW, are trying a new way to tackle this problem. The report showed footage of a child visiting the dentist at Wilcannia Hospital's walk-in clinic, run by the Maari Ma Health Aboriginal Corporation. Maari Ma also run interactive dental experiments every term in the town's two schools. Maari Ma's dental program is partnered by the NSW Government’s Area Health Service and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Fluoride will be added to Wilcannia's drinking water early this year.
