Dental Board Communique highlights

The Dental Board of Australia has issued a communiqué highlighting issues from the Board’s May meeting.

It states the Board’s interim policy on tooth whitening/bleaching and reminds dentists to comply with all relevant regulatory requirements.

The Board supports the use of Botulinum toxin by registered dentists with education, training and competence for the treatment of temporo-mandibular joint disorder/dysfunction only.

Members have until 19 June to comment on the proposed Scope of Practice registration standard and draft guidelines.  The ADA Inc and the ADAVB are making submissions on behalf of members, however individual submissions are also encouraged.

Dentists are reminded that the CPD registration standard of 60 hours over 3 years ends for the current cycle on 30 June 2013.
