Random audits of dentists

Random audits of dentists and other registered health practitioners will be conducted next year to check that they comply with registration standards.

The Dental Board of Australia says that areas to be audited are criminal history, English language skills, recency of practice, and continuing professional development.

Conducted by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, the agency says that this is the best way to protect the public through auditing a random sample of practitioners.
