Means-tested health insurance legislation passed

Federal Parliament has passed the means-test private health insurance legislation. Under the legislation, in the next financial year, individuals earning $84,000 or less, or families earning $168,000 or less will maintain the 30% rebate. As income increases, the subsidy decreases, however only singles earning more than $130,000 a year and families earning $260,000 or more in the next financial year will lose the rebate entirely.
