CPI March quarter increases 0.1%
The Consumer Price Index for the March quarter 2012 rose 0.1% compared with no change in the last December quarter. The index rose 1.6% through the year to the March quarter, compared with a rise of 3.1% through the year to the December quarter 2011.
The most significant price rises this quarter were for pharmaceutical products (up 14.1%) and medical and hospital services (2.1% increase).
