Dental Health Week targets children
With Dental Health Week starting on Monday, ADA is partnering with charities and care organisations around Australia to provide clear and simple ‘How-To’ guides to give to the parents and children they work with. The Association is working with organisations that are in daily contact with those most at risk of tooth decay because of poor diet, eating habits and oral hygiene practices. However, tooth decay doesn’t just affect the most disadvantaged in our society. With 50% of all children aged six suffering from tooth decay, there is clearly a gap in the knowledge of Australian parents about the causal factors and the simple ways to avoid it. The new Dental Health Week website aims to fill that knowledge gap. It provides comprehensive information on a wide range of oral health topics.
