NEHTA releases eHealth Scorecard

The National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA) has released a scorecard showing the adoption of the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR) and other eHealth foundations amongst general practice, community pharmacy, aged and acute care, and the wider community.

This scorecard shows progress in adoption of national eHealth programs across sectors. Uptake is shown for the PCEHR system, secure messaging, electronic prescriptions and dispense ratios, healthcare identifiers and the national authentication service for health.

It does not present a complete picture of uptake of eHealth, as it is limited by the data available to NEHTA, and notably, dental practice is not specifically mentioned.

Just before the Federal election, then Health Minister Tanya Plibersek said that more than 800,000 people were registered for the PCEHR.
