Patient-centred care

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare is now discussing the findings of a paper on patient-centred care.
The nation’s Health Ministers noted the paper at their meeting earlier this month.
These discussions will be used to inform the Commission’s program of work in this area.
The paper is Patient Centred Care: Improving quality and safety through partnerships with patients and consumers. Following the release of the paper for public comment, the Commission received 69 submissions. There was a range of suggestions for modifications to the paper. The Commission says that has tried to include as much of the feedback as possible in the final version.
