Dental Health Week focuses on tooth erosion

The ADA's Dental Health Week theme this year is Tooth Erosion. Dental Health Week runs from 2 - 8 August, and this year seeks to promote greater public awareness of the preventable causes of tooth erosion, and to distinguish this condition from tooth decay.
The causes of tooth erosion amongst adults and pregnant women, children and teenagers, and older Australians are each explained, and advice is offered on preventing or minimising "acid attacks" on tooth enamel for each of these groups.
The biggest causes of tooth erosion in children are soft drinks and fruit juices.
