Warning on Botox courses

Dentists are being targeted to enrol in Botox and dermal fillers courses which are currently being run in various Australian locations, including Melbourne. Dentists putting into practice information from such courses to provide treatments need to consider whether they will be in breach of the Dental Board of Australia’s Interim Policy on Botox.

They should also note that if they provide these treatments outside the guidelines in the DBA's Interim Policy, they will not be covered by professional indemnity insurance.

Practitioners providing such cosmetic treatments also need to comply with relevant laws such as drugs and poisons legislation and regulations.
