ADA supports Senate move on Medicare audits

The Australian Dental Association says Medicare ‘s aggressive action taken over absent paperwork for a dental scheme is placing a number of dentists under financial strain and potentially the threat of bankruptcy.

In a media release issued today, the Association called on the Federal Government to instruct Medicare to stop pursuing dentists who have provided quality care to patients within the Chronic Disease Dental Scheme but made errors completing administration requirements.

ADA welcomed the Senate passing a motion requiring the Government to detail the Medicare audits of dentists who have provided services under the scheme.
