Public consultation on national safety and quality goals

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care is undertaking public consultation to identify a small number of national safety and quality goals. It is anticipated that the goals will address issues regarding the prevention of harm, the delivery of appropriate care and achievement of desired outcomes, and the experience of the patient in the health system. A discussion paper has been prepared for public consultation with this process ending early next February. A final set of goals will be developed by the end of March.
