Aged care sector prepares for e-Health records

Preparations for electronic health records continue with the announcement today that vendors are invited to help prepare the aged care sector for the introduction of the Commonwealth Government’s personally controlled electronic health records (eHealth) system. The Government is bringing together software vendors and aged care providers to ensure facilities across the nation are given the right information, software and tools to adopt and operate the e-Health record system when it launches nationally next July. The eHealth record has the potential to transform and improve the delivery of health care for older Australians, the Minister for Mental Health and Ageing, Mr Mark Butler, said.
