Health sector leaders in the making

Health Services Commissioner Ms Beth Wilson said she was inspired by examples of leadership. Speaking at the graduation ceremony for 20 young people who this year completed the Health Sector Leadership Program, she said leadership was essential in making a difference.

The program focuses on ethics, communication, influencing and resilience. The participants – nominated by six health sector associations - are led, encouraged and motivated to learn, share and collaborate with one another so as to develop these fundamental elements of leadership.
ADAVB’s graduates are Drs Kar Mun Chan, Gitika Sanghvi and Adam Wallace.
The other associations involved are the Dietitians Association Australia Victoria Branch, Australian Physiotherapy Association, Pharmaceutical Society Australia, Speech Pathology Australia, and Optometrists Association Australia Victoria Division.
A firm believer in team leadership, Ms Wilson shared her passion in being true to oneself. ADAVB is very grateful to have Beth speak on this auspicious occasion.
Nominations for participating in next year’s course will be called for shortly.
