Peter Dutton new Federal Health Minister

Queensland MP Mr Peter Dutton will be the Minister for Health in the new Coalition Government. Mr Dutton's appointment was announced by the Prime Minister Elect, Mr Abbott, when giving details of the composition of his first Cabinet.

Mr Dutton was an energetic and diligent Shadow Health Minister who made significant contributions to the Shadow Ministry during the political battle over the Chronic Disease Dental Scheme, especially as regards the harsh treatment of dentists who failed to meet red tape requirements.

Senator Fiona Nash will be Assistant Minister for Health.
