Health Bills delayed
It is highly likely that two pieces of legislation concerning the dental profession and other health professions will not be passed by State Parliament before the 29 November election.
They are the Healthcare Quality Commissioner Bill and the Private Health Care Facilities Bill.
The Healthcare Quality Commissioner Bill reforms the health care complaints system. The other Bill adjusts registration and regulation requirements of private health care facilities such as day procedures centres.
Premier Napthine has indicated that he will reintroduce these Bills next year in the event the Government is re-elected.
Parliament rises on 16 October and the Government goes into caretaker mode on 4 November.
