Accreditation standards subject to examination
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care has just released a Consultation Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) on its model national accreditation scheme for safety and quality in health care.
As the Blog posted earlier today points out, the Commission’s 10 standards relate to processes for accreditation of health services organisations and reporting of performance against the standards.
To establish and maintain effective regulatory arrangements and avoid unnecessary compliance costs and restriction on business, an RIS is undertaken as part of the consultation process. This allows people and organisations to make submissions. The deadline for comments on this consultation RIS is 14 October. Section 11 of the RIS tells you how to make a submission. An analysis of the comments will be presented to the Australian Health Ministers’ Conference in November.
