Drugs of Addiction forum

Increasing problems caused by illicit drug use in the community has led the Victorian Branch of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia to organise a Drugs of Addiction forum. The forum, to be held on 11 November at Parkville, is for health professionals to get together to discuss issues and share recent research findings in this field.

Because of the importance of this issue, ADAVB members can attend as guests of PSA and not be charged the $75 admission fee.

The forum will explore the current trends with opioid substitution and addiction care and provide a networking opportunity.

The presenters are the Department of Health’s Dr Mike McDonough, Chief Adviser: Addition Medicine, and Ms Barbara Taylor, Pharmacotherapy Development Officer, Harm Reduction and Pharmacotherapy Services.
