ADA offers simple dental care plan

The Australian Dental Association said the Greens’ Denticare proposal does not address the existing national dental care problems.

President Dr Karin Alexander said a more effective, simple and long-lasting solution is to:
Provide the genuinely disadvantaged with assistance so that they are able to have a comprehensive care and treatment plan
Concentrate funding on those who cannot access dental care so that they are able to have long-term solutions to their dental problems.

ADA joined seven other organisations to issue a release calling on the Coalition to match or improve upon the Labor Party’s commitment to children’s dental services under Medicare and increased funding for public dental services for adults. Besides ADA, the call came from the Australian Health Care Reform Alliance, the National Rural Health Alliance, Public Health Association of Australia, Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association, the Australian Council of Social Service, the Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapists' Association and the Dental Hygienists' Association of Australia.
