Rethink dental health insurance - Is it really worth it?

Private health fund members should rethink their ancillary cover, according to Australian Dental Association President Dr Karin Alexander.

With private health insurance premiums having increased by 6.2%, Dr Alexander says that there is no correlation between premium increases and rebates paid to members for ancillary cover.

She said that dental fees over the last decade increased at rates below CPI and the Health Index, but insurers receive premium increases annually twice that of CPI with no corresponding rebate level increase.
