2014 Graduates Survey results out

Gradstats 2014 is the survey of 2013 graduates' salaries and work patterns published by Graduate Careers Australia (GCA).  This latest edition is normally published by early December each year, but this year has only just been released - in the middle of the holiday season.

GCA's annual Australian Graduate Survey (AGS) is a study of the activities of new higher education graduates around four months after the completion of their qualifications. In the 2014 AGS, new graduates were surveyed regarding their major activities, including full-time study, full- or part-time employment, seeking employment or their unavailability for work or study.

While dentistry graduates remained the top paid profession for new graduates, their median starting salaries slipped from $80k to $75k over the last year.  More were in part-time work than previously also.  To that extent, dentistry graduates shared the experience of most other graduates, (See the chart below).

ADAVB notes that only 91 responses were received from dental graduates for the 2014 survey, and that these may have included oral health therapists and dental hygienists, as well as dentists.
