ADA prepares report card on parties' dental policies
The Australian Dental Association Inc. has invited the major political parties to answer the Federal Election Report Card Questions on Dental Health Policy.
Responses to the 12 questions will be compiled into an ADA Federal election report card which will be published on the ADA website. The website also offers information about marginal electorates, and template letters for dentists and members of the public to send to MPs.
The ADA is looking for all candidates to:
• Modify the Child Dental Benefits Scheme “Grow Up Smiling” to provide more comprehensive
treatment so that eligible children do not receive compromised care, and so that the assistance
provided to dental services under this scheme is reflective of operational costs and fair
remuneration;
• Ensure that the National Partnership Agreements reduce public dental waiting lists by using existing resources and infrastructure, especially from the private sector; and,
• Address the dental workforce oversupply issues.
