We congratulate and welcome new ADAVB President, Dr Gitika Sanghvi.
The appointment of the new ADAVB President, Dr Gitika Sanghvi, was confirmed at the June General Meeting on 17 June 2019. Council thanked Dr Kevin Morris for his term as 2018/2019 ADAVB President and for championing the concerns of members, including private health fund issues, scope of practice and public oral health funding. Council also farewelled and thanked past president, Dr Susan Wise, who didn't re-nominate following an effective and successful eight years on Council.
Dr Gitika Sanghvi has been a member of Council for six years, beginning her involvement with the ADAVB during dental school.
Gitika graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2006 and was elected to ADAVB Council in 2013. She completed the ADAVB Health Sector Leadership Program in 2012.
Gitika was Chair of the Recent Graduate and Students Committee in 2010/11 (being a member since 2004), the ADC Graduate Support Ad Hoc Committee in 2017/18 and Vice Chair of the Finance Risk and Audit Committee.
She has been a member of multiple other ADAVB Committees, including the Oral Health, the Sports/Social and the Constitution and Policy Committees.
Gitika was a clinical demonstrator for the final year dental students at Goulburn Valley Health. She has worked in public and private general practice, both rurally and around Melbourne, and her private practice is located in the city.
